Cascade Cody

The Pacific Northwest is an area underrepresented on the Americana scene. Plenty of artists sing about the hills of West Virginia, the women in Tennessee and the early battles of the Texas plains. But, other than Woody Guthrie’s commissioned work by the United States Government in the 1930s, there are very few PNW specific artists within the genre itself. Cascade Cody is just that, a PNW artist outside the realm of nineties grunge, cultivating a brand that is PNW, by PNW. Hailing from Eastern Washington State, Cascade Cody writes songs that are different from the traditional Americana setting, yet familiar to the senses of the Americana fan.

Cody’s unique showmanship, writing, and humor have earned him an eclectic place in the Washington State music scene. Upon his first release, he was invited to compete in several Battle of The Bands showcases, as well has since been featured on several different Spotify playlists, podcasts and opening performances. Cody had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Tayla Lynn (Granddaughter of Loretta Lynn) and won best music video for his song “Only Thing Defined” at the “Shoreline Short Short Film Festival.” Currently he is working on a third project, one that will harken to simple music perpetuating complicated truths.
