“Wenas Plains” - Cascade Cody
Cascade Cody’s newest single embodies the history of rural life in Washington State. The song “Wenas Plains” is a contemporary story set in the juxtaposition of the early settlers of the Wenas Valley, north of Selah, WA and at the edge of Yakima County. The song addresses the simplicity of life, and the history of the sage brush laden landscape. References to the first settlers (David Longmire) of the Wenas Valley, set a arch for the centralized character of the song, and the settlers themselves. Leaving home to find future, only to long for home while we’re away.
